MOL Global Pte Ltd, is the newly-formed entity as result of recent MOL AccessPortal Bhd acquisition of California-based Friendster Inc.  The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed but it is rumored the deal costs around USD100 million.

Friendster pioneered social networking in 2003 and was one of the top 10 social networking site in the world as at Dec 2009 according to traffic site rank by Alexa. It has about 115 millions members worldwide of which 75 millions are from the asian region.

On future plan, Friendster will be focusing on Asian youth market. Notable changes includes fun-centric brand, new design of site and to focus more on local relevancy, fun and simplicity - 10 December 2009
